Luz Z. Mercado Obituary
Luz Z. Mercado, 78, of West Reading passed away Tuesday, September 5th, at her residence.
Luz was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico on March 25, 1945, the daughter of Dolores (Bentancourt), of Hatillo, Puerto Rico and the late Ismael Rodriguez and was the widow of Luis E. Mercado, who passed away in 2013.
She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, Reading and was employed as a custodian at Vanity Fair, Reading for 25 years retiring in 2014.
Luz is also survived by her daughter, Lourdes C. Mercado, of Laureldale and son, Ernesto J. Mercado, widower of Ivette, of Reading. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Pedro Luis Mercado.
Viewing will be Monday, September 11th from 6 to 8 PM at Feeney Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, September 12th at 10 AM at St. Peter The Apostle RC Church, 322 South Fifth Street, Reading, 19602. Interment at Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading.
