Linda L. Sweigart, 82, of Reading, passed away Wednesday, March 5th, at Laurel Center, Hamburg.
Linda was born in Lebanon County, Pa., on December 10, 1942, a daughter of the late Verna (Yoder) and Homer Heffelfinger.
She was the widow of Barry L. Sweigart who predeceased her in 2019. They were married for 58 years.
A 1959 graduate of Newmanstown High School and a graduate of McCann School of Business where she met her beloved husband Barry Sweigart. She was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church Reading, PA 19601 and worked as a Homemaker. A lifelong music lover, Linda dedicated many years to assisting church choirs at St. Paul's, St. Ignatius, West Lawn Methodist and St. Mark's Lutheran. Her love for music, extended to her family, where she supported and encouraged her children and grandchildren in their musical endeavors, always, fostering a deep appreciation for the art. Linda found joy in playing piano, swimming, biking, and was an avid gardener. Always a pillar of strength, she selflessly supported her loved ones with unwavering care. She will be deeply missed.
Linda is survived by her son Brent Sweigart, husband of Connie, of Reading, two daughters Melinda, wife of Bob Bender, of Reading; and Angela, wife of Sean Wholey of Havertown. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren Wayne, Shawn, Lauren, Seth, Isabelle, Levi and Luca. Also surviving are 3 great grandchildren Kira, Emilia and Khai.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Tuesday, March 11th at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Reading, PA with Msgr. John Grabish officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Paul's R.C. Catholic Church, 151 N. 9th Street, Reading, PA 19601.
Interment alongside her husband Barry follows at Gethsemane Cemetery Reading, PA.
