Lester Thomas Obituary

Lester John Thomas, 81, passed away on Tuesday, April 17, 2024 in the Ephrata Wellspan Hospital. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Rodney L. Thomas and Virgina L. (Good) Snyder, and the adopted son of the late Kenneth W. Snyder, Sr.
Lester was a special person who overcame his challenge with disabilities through his love for NASCAR, WWE and close ties with his mother. He attended special education classes at the Glenside Elementary School where he developed life skills and a network of friends. Lester worked more than 50 years at the then Berks County Association for the Blind Sheltered Workshop as an assembler. Upon its closing and his retirement, he shared precious time with family, watching movies and going for walks. He last resided at SunnyCrest Home in Morgantown, PA. 

Lester is survived by his brother, Kenneth Snyder, Jr (Patricia) Wyomissing; niece Tiffany Garner Lutherville, MD; nephews; Kenneth Snyder III, Millersville, and Christopher (Sami) Willow Street, PA. As well as grand nieces and nephews; Ethan and Owen Garner, Nightengale and Kenny Snyder IV, Penelope and Calla Snyder.
His family wishes to extend deep thanks to the staff and clients of SunnyCrest for their loving care and acceptance of Lester in his later stage of life’s journey.

Interment will be in Forest Hills at the convenience of the family.
