Joseph F. Dalton, Sr., 67, of Reading, passed away Saturday, June 10th, at Exeter Greens, Exeter Township, PA.
The husband of Annamae I. (Hendricks) Dalton, who survives him. Joseph was born in Boston, MA on March 12, 1950, a son of the late Florence (Harmon) and Edward Dalton.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and worked at Redner’s Warehouse Markets and also as a cab driver.
He was very active in Democratic Politics in Berks County and was a past President of the Dauberville DX Association, and was a member of the Reading Radio Club and Hamburg JC's. He was a volunteer for the American Red Cross, Muscular Dystrophy and Multiple Sclerosis.
mae and a daughter, Jolene, wife of John Batarick, of Maxatawny, PA; 2 sons Joseph F. Dalton, Jr, husband of Korrine Dalton, of Shoemakersville; Paul Dalton, husband of Kena Dalton, of Florida; and a stepson Mark Schmidtendorff, husband of Maranda of Sinking Spring, PA.
Joseph is also survived by 3 brothers, Richard Dalton, of Boston, MA; Gene Dalton, of Braintree, MA; and Gary Dalton, of Boston, MA.
He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 7 step grandchildren.
Joseph was predeceased by a daughter, Polly McKay, a sister, Jean D’Avilla and 2 brothers James Dalton and Edward Dalton Jr.
