Joseph M. Ballasy, 86, of New Holland, passed away Sunday, December 23rd, at Garden Villa Nursing Home, New Holland, Lancaster County.

Joseph was born in Philadelphia on May 3, 1932, a son of the late Irene (Rajman) and Matthew Ballasy and was the husband of Elizabeth C. (Schubert) Ballasy, of New Holland.

He served in the U.S. Army Military Police as a Sgt. in the Korean War an was employed as a truck mechanic at Breuinger Dairy retiring in 1994. He was a member of St. Benedict's R.C. Church, Mohnton.

Joseph was a member of the Korean War Buddies, a 60 year member of the American Legion Conestoga Post 662 in New Holland and the Teamsters Retiree Club # 429.

In addition to his wife, Betty, Joseph is survived by three sons; Joseph P. Ballasy husband of Lorraine Ballasy, of Westminster, PA; Kenneth J. Ballasy, husband of Kati Ballasy, of Trevose, PA; and Daniel J. Ballsay, of Oakhurst, NJ.

Friends are invited to call 9 AM to 10 AM on Friday, December 28th at St. Benedict's RC Church, 2020 Chestnut Hill Rd., Mohnton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM with Father Phil Rodgers officiating.

Interment with full Military Honors will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Ephrata, PA.
