John W. (Jack) Werner, 91, of Country Meadows, Wyomissing, PA, formerly of Reading, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024 at Laureldale Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Laureldale, PA.
John was born in Reading, PA, on September 13, 1932, a son of the late Flora (Rehrer) and Samuel Werner.
He was the widower of Elizabeth (Drop) Werner who predeceased him in 2020.
He was a former member at SS Cyril and Methodius R.C. Church and most recently a member at St. Ignatius of Loyola in Sinking Spring.
Jack served in the U.S. Army as a PFC in the Korean War and worked as a Drafting Estimator for Berks Products Kutztown, PA, for 36 years.
He is survived by his daughter Kathleen A. Ditter (David) of Gilbertsville and his three sons: John W. Werner, Jr. (Patricia) of Wernersville; James J. Werner of Alsace Twp.; and Thomas M. Werner of Alsace Twp. He is also survived by his two grandchildren, Rebecca and Anna Ditter, both of Gilbertsville, PA, his three sisters-in-law: Shirley Werner of Florida, widow of Joseph Werner; Emily Drape of Tennessee, widow of Michael, and Anna Murray of Wyomissing, widow of Bruce. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at Gethsemane Cemetery Chapel of the Resurrection on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 1 PM. Interment with Military Honors in Gethsemane Cemetery following the Mass.
