Jeffrey Lynn (Jeff) Degler, 81, of West Lawn, PA passed away Friday, February 28th, at Reading Hospital & Medical Center, West Reading.
Jeff was born in Shillington, PA on April 3, 1943, a son of the late Lydia S (Steffy) and Earl R Degler.
He was the husband of Cheryl Christine (Angstadt) Degler, who survives him. They were married for 57 years.
A graduate of Wilson High School class of 1961. He served in the U.S. Army as a Specialist 5 (E5) in the Vietnam War era. Jeff enjoyed spending his days watching his beloved Phillies and Eagles play.
He started his 60-year career in grocery store management at Ciottis Market at age 16, and rose to Manager of the Greenfields store. He owned the Briner's Food Markets in Wernersville and Reading; and was later store manager at Pathmark and Shur-Fine, ending his career with Weis Markets.
In addition to his wife, Cheryl, Jeff is survived by a daughter, Tracy L Ravert., wife of James Ravert, of Spring Township; and a son, Jeffrey Lee, husband of Karen Degler, of Spring Township.
He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Brian Gillease, husband of Breanne, of Douglasville; Megan G. Ravert of College Park, MD; Kyle B. Degler of Spring Township; Sarah E. Ravert of Middlesboro, KY; Kira L. Degler of Spring Township and a great-grandson Quentin A. Gillease. Also his best buddy, a King Charles Cavalier named Reily, (Deceased).
He was predeceased by a brother; Joel R. Degler who died in 1988.

Interment will be at Pleasant View Cemetery Sinking Spring, PA.
