Gerhard H. Poch, 86, of Fleetwood, PA, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at Lutheran Home at Topton.
Gerhard was born in Rummelsburg, Germany on March 15, 1937, a son of the late Herta (Treptow) and Gunter Pooch.
He was the devoted husband to Brigitta (Harfmann) Poch, who survives him. They were married for 62 years.
He served in the U.S. Army as a SP4 E4 and was the Owner and Operator of Gerhard's Embroidery and Reading Upholstery Shop for his entire life.
He was a 50 year member of Huguenot Masonic Lodge #377 and formerly with the Teutonia Lodge. He was also a member of the Rajah Temple Legion of Honor, Tall Cedars, and a former President of the Evergreen Country Club.
Gerhard was a skilled and creative craftsman. He loved to garden, dance, play soccer, tennis, and work on his farm and property. He enjoyed cooking steaks for the Evergreen Country Club, and Legion of Honor picnic events.
In addition to his loving wife Brigitta, Gerhard is survived by two daughters; Debbie, wife of Mark Dilliplaine, of Kingsland, GA; Anita Poch of Fleetwood, PA; and son Erich Poch, husband to Ann Marie Poch, of Elkton, Md. Gerhard is also survived by brothers; Klaus Pooch, of Gluckstadt, Germany, Harry Poch of Shillington, PA, and by 4 grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kyle, Ava, and Erica.
Encryptments will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA, on Monday, March 6, 2023 at 2 pm. Services will be held privately.
