Fred John Feltenberger
Former Mayor of Laureldale
Frederick John Feltenberger, 73, of Laureldale, PA, passed away at 10 AM, Sunday, August 14th, peacefully, while in the company of family members, at his residence. .
The husband of Dolly (VanDever) Feltenberger, who survives him, Fred was born in Laureldale, PA on October 5, 1942, a son of the late Alberta M. (Williams) and Theodora C. Feltenberger.
He served in the U.S. Army as a SSG in during Vietnam War, and later worked at Ehrlich for 20 years, retiring in 2007. He previously worked for General Battery also for 20 years.
A former Mayor of Laureldale Boro (retired July 31st due to health reasons), He was also a Past President of Central Fire Company, Past Captain of the Fire Police, a driver for Muhlenberg Ambulance Assn. for 14 years, a Vietnam Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post 732 in Bernville, PA
He is survived by his wife Dolly , and 6 children. Three daughter, Terri Lynn Colon, of Shillington, PA; Deanine L. Correll, of Lexington, SC; and Shari Delp, of Arizona; Three sons, Jody Rush, of Arizona; Kyle Feltenberger, of Muhlenberg Twp., PA; and Brad Feltenberger, of Muhlenberg Twp., PA; two sisters Jean E., widow of Oliver Putt, of Laureldale, PA; and Marveanna M., widow of Paul Redstone, of Laureldale, PA; also a brother Earl C., wife of Doris Feltenberger, of Columbia, PA. 8 grandchildren, Danielle, Nicole and Blaine Colon, Ashlie and Marissa Correll , And Jessica Delp, Devon and Katrina Feltenberger. also 4 great grandchildren Brandon John, Zack, Dontae And Madison Grace. He was predeceased by 5 brothers, Theodore, Richard, George, Ronald and Jack Feltenberger
Friends and relatives are invited to call Thursday 6 - 8 PM. and Friday 10 - 11 AM at John P. Feeney Funeral Home, Inc. Military Honor Salute at 11 AM by the Topton Legion Honor Guard followed by a Religious Service. Inurnment will take place in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Veteran's Making a Difference 2412 Spring St West Lawn, PA 19609.
