Ellen E. Cleaver, 93, of Boyertown, passed away Friday, October 21st.
Ellen was born in Woodchoppertown, Earl Township, on November 19, 1928, daughter of the late John R. and Amelia (Eberhart) Cleaver and a lifelong resident of the Boyertown area.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was a true people person and made friends everywhere, valuing time with family and friends over and above anything else in life.
Ellen is a member of Christ Lutheran Church and worked in Quality Control at Wagner Electric for 40 years until her retirement in 1989. She was a member and life member of many local social clubs and throughout her life enjoyed roller skating, dancing, and hosting family gatherings.
Ellen was predeceased by the love of her life and companion of 45 years, Harvey R. Shane. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy I., wife of Robert C. Leaming of Spring City, grandchildren Kimberly M. Naylor, wife of George, of Bally, John R. Ruth, husband of Christine, of Boyertown, Melissa R. Antrim, of Wyomissing, Shiena S. Powelson, companion of Jason, of Pottstown and Kristofer Powelson, companion of Shelley, of Phoenixville, as well as 4 great-grandchildren, Michael, Connor and Max Antrim, and Patrick Ruth, husband of Stephanie, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, Adam, Mackenzie, Brystol and Braelynn. She is also survived by her step-daughter and son, Loretta A. Corrigan, wife of Terry and Terry Shane, husband of Mayetta, and step-grandchildren Tyler, husband of Wendy, Travis, husband of Karen, and Andy Shane, and Kimberly, Caitlin and Megan Corrigan, and six step-great-grandchildren, Abby, Kayla, Hannah, Sadie, Olivia and Josiah. She is also survived by 3 sisters, Pearl Rutherford, Shirley Pflieger and Sandra Morgan and many nieces and nephews, including her favorite, John F. Cleaver, who was always there to help her. She was also predeceased by her 4 brothers, John, Daniel, Earl and Ernest Cleaver, a sister, Helen Benfield, and grandson, Lowell Scott Ruth.
