Eleanor Sobczynski Obituary
Eleanor C. Sobczynski, 97, of New Holland, passed away Wednesday, December 7th, at Garden Spot Village.
Eleanor was born in Mt Carmel on October 1, 1925, a daughter of the late Frances (Lucas) and Peter Wydra and was the widow of Edmund J. Sobcynski.
She was a member of Our Lady Lourdes Catholic Church, New Holland.
She worked as an RN at Coatesville VA Medical Center, Coatesville for 34 years retiring in 1979. She was a St. Agnes School of Nursing Alumni, Brandywine Hospital Auxiliary, NARFE and AARD. She was jokingly known as the Polish General by the staff at the VA Hospital and she led and developed many programs to benefit our veterans.
Eleanor is survived by her brother, Thomas Wydra, of Mt. Carmel and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Ann Wendling and brother, Ray Wydra.
Services are private at the convenience of the family.
Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
