Douglas Wolfe Obituary

Douglas P. Wolfe, 95, of Womelsdorf passed away peacefully of natural causes on Saturday, August 22nd at Phoebe Berks Village, Wernersville. 

Douglas was born in Reading, PA on July 30, 1925, the son of the late Dorothy (Pedrick) and Charles Clifford Wolfe. He is survived by his wife, Susan (Diedrich) Wolfe, and three sons; Timothy D. (Jeanne, deceased), of Reading; Douglas P. Jr. (Brenda), of Franklin, TN; and Steven M. (Julie), of Ridgefield, CT. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Douglas was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey A. and his wife Kathleen, and a sister, Julia Giles.

Douglas was a graduate of Oak Ridge Military Academy in North Carolina, Muhlenberg High School, and Babson College in Massachusetts. Trained as a navigator, Douglas served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Lieutenant in WW II. An avid automobile enthusiast, Douglas served as Treasurer of the Blue Mountain Region of the Sports Car Club of America. Douglas was a local businessman for many years, co-owning Crown-Globe Inc., a textile company in Shoemakersville, for 53 years before retiring in 2001.

Services are private at the convenience of family. Interment will take place with full military honors at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.
