Dennis Ray (Bud) Lavender
77, passed away November 16, 2014 in Robesonia, PA. Dennis was born in Bedford, IN to the late Claude H. and Frances M. (Underwood) Lavender on September 15, 1937.
His sister, Claudia, preceded him in death. He is survived by his 4 children: Brett(Lisa)Lavender, Jon(Amy)Lavender, Ted(Lisa) Lavender, Lynn(Bill)McNamee, Carol Lee Garland mother of his children, 13 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
Dennis was a 1955 graduate of Arsenal Tech High School and attended Butler University. He served in the Army Reserve and received an honorable discharge in 1964. He was a department head with Western Electric (AT&T) retiring at the age of 55 in Reading, PA.
He was also "Papu, The Engineer", who drove the Reading Express Train at every game and parade during his retirement. The Reading Express was a professional indoor football team owned by his son, Ted and wife Lisa.
Services were held at the John P. Feeney Funeral Home in the downtown historic area of Reading, PA. Friends and family then gathered for a celebration of Dennis's life at Berks Fire Water Restorations.
Bud will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
