Clark Cable Obituary

Clark F. Cable of Oley passed away Saturday, October 25 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading. A beloved husband, father and friend, he is best remembered for the enthusiasm he brought to any endeavor, whether work, sports or friendly get-togethers.

Over the years, he worked as a certified welder with Heine Safety Boiler Company and Leighton Industries and ran the powerhouse at Graterford State Prison until retiring in 1998. He served with the National Guard for 19 years.

Clark also excelled as an athlete, performing as a figure skater with Holiday on Ice and as a state champion in both horseshoes and AAU basketball. He loved laughter, boating, games, hunting at the family farm in Pine Grove, and, especially, time with his family. He was a member of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church in Phoenixville, Roedersville Game & Fish Club, Pike Township Sportsmen’s Association and a lifetime member of the Phoenixville Polish American Citizens Club.

The son of the late Ada M. (Gallagher) Cable and Daniel W. Cable, Clark was born in Phoenixville on March 24, 1936, and graduated from Phoenixville High School. He is survived by his three children: Robert S., husband of Caroline L. Cable, of Fleetwood; Kimberly A. Cable, wife of Kenneth B. Lewis, of Boston; and Sherry L. Cable of Boston. Clark was married for 59 years to Sylvia R. (Meck) Cable, who passed away in 2019.
