Clair (Hank) R. Heim, 86, formerly of Reading, PA, passed away on Tuesday, March 21st at Rittenhouse Village at Muhlenberg. Hank was born in Reading, PA on November 12, 1930, a son of the late Margaret (Burkhart) and Nelson Heim.
Hank served in the U.S. Army as a Private in the Korean era. He worked at Glidden Paint for 26 years, retiring in 1992, and was a member of the VFW. He was a wood crafter who made beautiful furniture. He loved swimming at the YMCA, horse racing, big band music, and Broadway shows.
Hank is survived by a daughter, Nancy Frick, of Lafayette Hill, PA; three sons: Martin Heim, of Sinking Spring, PA; Dan, husband of Beth Heim, of S. Coventry Twp, PA; and Ed Heim, fiancé of Mandy Miller, of Wyomissing, PA. He is also survived by a brother, Nelson Heim, of Laureldale, PA, and 4 grandchildren: Michael, Jackson, and Theo Heim, and Mia Miller.
Friends are invited to gather on Friday, March 24 from 10:30am-noon at John P. Feeney Funeral Home, Reading, with a service to follow, then encryptment at Charles Evans Cemetery, 1119 Centre Ave, Reading, PA 19601.
