Anthony J. LaScala
Anthony J. LaScala, 76, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away Wednesday, June 14th, at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, Dauphin County with his wife and daughter by his side.
Anthony was born in Stowe, PA on April 28, 1947, a son of the late Helen (Fontana) and Michael Bruno LaScala and was the husband of Jacquelyn A. (Geesey) LaScala, of Muhlenberg Township, who survives him.
Anthony graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1965. He then served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era where he received the National Defense Service medal, the expert M-14 certification, and the sharpshooter rank using the 45 pistol. He is a retired steel worker from the former DANA Corporation, Reading where he worked for 22 years. He also worked as a barber at local shops. He enjoyed fishing and going to the casinos. He loved listening to Frank Sinatra music, wearing cologne, drinking Crown Royal, and teasing the kids who loved his humor.
Anthony is also survived by his daughter, Bridget A. LaScala and her significant other, Jay Alvarez, of Reading as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and his grand dog a yellow Lab named Sonny. Anthony was predeceased by brothers, Michael and Phillip LaScala.
A public viewing will be held Tuesday, June 20th from 5 to 7 PM at Feeney Funeral Home. A Catholic mass of burial will be held Wednesday, June 21st at 10 AM at Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, Laureldale. Interment will be private at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
