Amador A. Montalvo, 92, of Reading, passed away Thursday, January 23rd, at Reading Hospital & Medical Center, West Reading.
Amador was born in Penuelas, Puerto Rico on March 12, 1932, a son of the late Carmen Andujar and Herminio Montalvo and was the husband of Pauline (Quinones) Montalvo, of Reading.
He served in the U.S. Army 3rd Infantry as a PVT-2 Gunner's Mate in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953 earning the Korean Service Medal three Bronze Stars and the United Nations Service Medal. He worked as a steelworker at Birdsboro Steel and Baldwin Brass for 40 years retiring in 2009. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness, Reading.
Amador is survived by his two daughters, Minnie, wife of Greg McCullough, of Reading; Martha Montalvo, of Reading; four sons, Allen E. Montalvo, husband of Wanda, of Puerto Rico; Michael Montalvo, of Staten Island; Amador J. Montalvo, Jr. of Reading; Robert L. Montalvo, of Reading and 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister, Sara Montalvo and brother, Albert Montalvo
Viewing will be Tuesday, January 28th from 9:30 to 10:30 AM on at Feeney Funeral Home. Service will follow at 10:30 AM. Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
